Hayburn Wyke Beach wide

The Hayburn Wyke Inn @ Cloughton

Off the beaten track, this beautiful stone beach is the starting point for a coastal walk to Ravenscar where you can take in an amazing view of Robin Hoods bay. You make your way back to the Hayburn Wyke via a disused railway line and a walk by a stream through some magical woods.

Highlights

Hidden away off the main road between Scarborough and Whitby is an interesting watering hole called the Hayburn Wyke Inn.

From here there’s a track down to the Hayburn Wyke waterfall which falls onto a pebble beach. An amazing place, especially when the sun is trying to shine.

We took the coast track all the way to Ravenscar, and didn’t manage to get a picture of the snake on the path. We stopped for a cuppa at Raven Hall which meant we could stroll around their gardens and take in the view of Robin Hoods bay.

Back along the disused railway line and through some magical woods to the Hayburn Wyke Inn. We had two pints of Wold Top blonde to go with our meals.

This 8.5 mile walk felt much longer in the biting wind but lots of variety made it an interesting day. Roxy will definitely sleep well tonight.
