Wow, wow, wow – descending Murton bank into the village of Hawnby is like entering another world. You’d be forgiven for thinking that you’re the first to discover this paradise land that time forgot. This walk takes pride of place in our hidden gems.

Probably one of the best located boozers we have come across. Nestled in the sleepy village of Hawnby, with a fantastic view down the valley, this location takes some beating. A warm welcome from the barman, hand pulled Theakston’s, Guinness too, a dog friendly bar with an interesting menu and some posh hotel rooms up the stairs to round it off.

Across the road from the pub they have some dog friendly rooms, we’ll be coming back to make a long weekend of this stunning place.
