Rivers of Yorkshire

Yorkshire is blessed with over 25 rivers, most of which empty into the great river Humber, that’s the big one near Hull that is spanned by the amazing Humber Bridge which at the time of opening in June 1981 held the record as the longest suspension bridge in the world for 17 years.

This is the mighty River Wharfe

60 miles long

Runs from Beckermonds and empties into the River Ouse at Cawood (home of the Ryther Arms)
